Eurobitume & Euroasphalt 2008
Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark

Seirgei Miller, André Dorée and Henny ter Huerne of the unit, accompanied by ASPARI founder, BAM Wegen’s Berwich Sluer, all attended the EAPA 2008 Congress. EAPA is the European industry association which represents the manufacturers of bituminous mixtures and companies engaged in asphalt road construction and maintenance. EAPA has the mission to promote the good use of asphalt in the creation and maintenance of a sustainable European road network. More than seven hundred delegates attended the congress. Two hundred technical papers were published in the conference proceedings and only twenty (20) papers were selected for presentation. We are proud to announce that our paper entitled “Paving the way forward - A case study in innovation and process control” was one of the four papers selected for presentation in session 8. The conference programme highlights the honour in this way:

Session 8 - Innovation showcases. The best examples of successful innovative solutions will be presented during this session. The Scientific Committee, consisting of over 140 renowned specialists from asphalt and bitumen industry, will select only a few papers from all of those submitted, to be presented. It will be a true honour for the authors of the selected papers.

The paper and poster exhibit were both well received. The ASPARI unit has been complimented on the work we are conducting in our attempts firstly, to further professionalize and secondly, to reduce variability in the asphalt paving process. There have been several requests for more information and for possible linkage opportunities. A flyer of the paper can be downloaded on this site.
